Job description

Joberate UAB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based, Joberate, Inc. Joberate® has developed a big data analytics platform to measure job seeking activities of the global workforce, enabling organizations to make evidence-based recruiting and talent retention decisions.

Joberate is expanding operations in Lithuania and is looking for creative and highly intelligent developers with technical and scientific educational backgrounds. We are also looking for motivated or self taught highly talented programmers. The successful candidate must have a passion for programming, demonstrable expertise in more than one modern programming language, diligent work ethic and looking to be part of a proactive team.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

⚬ Extensive development of algorithmic logic based on scientific and statistical methods; creation of algorithmic code embodying said logic
⚬ Create and support various existing applications, APIs, and 3rd party tools
⚬ Creation of new applications & internal tools
⚬ Tune, optimize and debug existing code bases
⚬ Manipulation of large scale datasets (in the hundreds of millions of records / documents and billions of parameters)
⚬ Design, build, and support a new data analytics platform
⚬ Creation of new system architectures; Design, develop, then tune and optimize code
⚬ Contribute to the implementation data models and database structures for Business Intelligence
⚬ Implement clustering, classification and spatial analytics
⚬ Be responsible for identifying key prediction/classification problems, and devise innovative solutions
⚬ Assist with product direction by bringing in innovative ideas generated through data mining and data modeling to major DS problems like entity resolution and scoring science

Requirements

Basic qualifications:

⚬ Extensive knowledge of OOP, LAMP and / or MEAN Stacks
Solid knowledge of SQL Databases (Any one or more of the following)
⚬ MySQL, MariaDB, MS-SQL Server, Oracle DB (constructing complex database schemas, using stored procedures, ETL)
Proficient knowledge of NoSQL Databases (Any one or more of the following)
⚬ MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, BigTable, Hypertable
⚬ Good practical working knowledge of graph theory / graph database technology - Neo4j or Cayley
⚬ Expertise in Python including the following NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, Celery, or just some expert googling skills to unearth information already on the web
⚬ Strong proficiency in at least two of the following programing languages - PHP, C/C++/C#, Java
⚬ Minimum of 2 years of work experience in LAMP or MEAN Stack environment OR significant university-level programming experience
⚬ Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, mathematics or physics
⚬ Experience with command-line scripting, data structures and algorithms and ability to process large amounts of data in a cloud environment
⚬ Desire to work with both Lithuanian and American development team members
⚬ Experience working in a fast-paced environment
⚬ Excellent oral and written communication skills
⚬ Excellent command of the English language

Desired skills:

⚬ Ability to learn independently, with demonstrable problem-solving ability
⚬ Cloud Computing & Database Platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean, and Microsoft Cloud (Azure)
⚬ Experience with any of the following SQL Databases, specifically: MySQL, MariaDB, MS-SQL Server, Oracle DB (the ability to construct complex database schemas and using stored procedures in either)
⚬ Experience with HDFS & MapReduce model
⚬ Experience with scraping, parsing, cleansing, and validating data
⚬ Experience with any of the following NoSQL and key/value pair data stores, specifically: MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, BigTable, Hypertable, and Hadoop
⚬ Experience with scraping, parsing, cleansing, and validating data
⚬ Proficiency in manipulating complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varied sources
⚬ R, Hive, Scala, Apache Spark, REST & creation of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, xHTML, Stored Procedures, Git, Github, Bitbucket, ORM frameworks, DB Administration, Sharding, Indexing, Load Balancing, and Performance Tuning practices
