Objectives of the role
- Guard all company data, particularly sensitive information, from both internal and external threats by designing broad defenses against would-be intruders.
- Take the lead in day-to-day monitoring for unusual activities, implement defensive protocols, and report incidents.
- Maintain documentation of security guidelines, procedures, standards, and controls.
- Maintain knowledge of current cybercrime tactics.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a information security strategy.
- Collecting data on current security measures for risk analysis, and write systems status reports regularly.
- Monitoring software use.
- Installing and testing new security measures.
- Establishing contingency and disaster recovery plans in case of a security breach.
- Reporting and investigating IT security incidents, including recreating them to identify vulnerabilities.
- Creating, maintaining and delivering cyber security awareness training for colleagues, providing advice and guidance about cybersecurity issues such as spam, phishing or unwanted emails.
- Granting credentials to authorized users, monitoring access-related activities, and checking for unregistered information changes (monitoring access management and organizing relevant permissions for user accounts).
Qualifications and training required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, information technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in a similar Information / Cyber Security position (2+ years experience in professional environment in Information Security/Risk Management)
- Proven experience in information security and cybersecurity. This includes the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the organisation's assets and data from threats and vulnerabilities.
- In depth knowledge of IT Security principles covering Network Security, Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, Risk Management & Incident Response.
- Familiarity with security compliance standards and best practices.
- Self-motivated individual with flexible approach to working.
- Willingness to learn and aptitude to remain up to date with information security standards and Technology.
- Excellent communication both written and verbal.
- Security certifications are desirable but not required.
- Familiarity with GDPR and CCPA will be preferable.
