Medical Coding Specialist

Medical Coding Specialist uses all the information from the patient care report (PCR) in order to determine the level of service that was provided by the Emergency Room Physician and to add all the trackers needed to support the decision. The position will report to the Emergency Department Medical Coding Team Lead.
  • Consistently and accurately assign the appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) codes according to Intermedix coding guidelines.
  • Determine and add overall level of service as well as tracker codes.
  • Perform any other special projects or assignments in a timely and accurate manner, as assigned.
  • Communicate trends and opportunities for improvement to management.
  • Meet routine deadlines and work schedules as well as timely and accurate completion of special projects and assignments
  • Understand, support, enforce and comply with company policies, procedures and standards of business ethics and conduct.
  • Ensure compliance with all company confidentiality policies including patient information, client information and team member information encountered while performing job duties.


  • Bilingual Lithuanian and English.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent computer literacy and computer operating skills.
  • Keen attention to detail, accuracy and willingness to improve;
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable healthcare data privacy practices and laws is preferred.
  • Experience in International Classification of Disease (ICD) version 10 is preferred.

Start Date: 7 November 2016
