Operations & Finance Manager


Who you are

Meridia is now looking for an experienced Operations Manager based in our Kaunas office, to support our global teams in Ghana, Indonesia and The Netherlands. In the role of operations manager, you take care that our global operations run smoothly in all possible ways. This means that you’re based in Kaunas, but will get the chance to travel to our offices across the globe.

Meridia operates with fully digitized accounting and consolidation. We need you to be the champion of this and look for better and smarter ways of integrating systems and making us more efficient. You help our offices in achieving operational excellence by constantly thinking how we can make our business processes more efficient. Helping us do more with less effort should be your motto.

You will be part of our growing global service and support team which is anchored in Kaunas and Amsterdam and take a leading function in our local operations Kaunas. This means that you will be the face of the company for our external partners, negotiate contracts with our local suppliers and services providers, build and maintain a local network of partners, help in our recruitment efforts and make sure that Meridia is visible by participating in relevant events and keeping a keen eye on interesting conferences.

  • Office management, administration
  • Manage procurement for office use and hardware for global use
  • Keep office operational and organized
  • Basic HR management for our Kaunas based team

  • Monitor and record all in and outgoing transactions,
  • Manage our automated bookkeeping system
  • Hold accountant relationship
  • Oversee automated monthly management reporting and consolidation
  • Prepare and make any payments, with necessary approval
  • Update and maintain financial modeling
  • Support project teams across all of our geographies with finance / reporting
  • Help structure global group accounting, with accountants and management

What you bring to the table

  • 4 years+ of experience managing finances of one or more mid-sized businesses
  • Accounting and corporate finance background
  • Collaborative and solution oriented
  • Able to work across cultures with remote teams
  • Independent, self-motivating and able to deliver results
  • Conceptually strong and able to take an organsiational need and develop a solution
  • Strong understanding of finance and financial modeling
  • Good professional English
  • Excel wizard – yes, really.
  • Experience with Xero a plus
  • Ability to travel 2-4 weeks per year, mainly in Europe, Africa and Asia also possible
  • Able to self-motivate and structure work independently
