Job description
TASKS:
- Ensure the safe, reliable, and economical operation of the assigned ships according to international maritime legislative requirements, classification society regulations and technical operation rules.
- Main contact between the ships and management onshore
- Provide technical support to the ships
- Supervision and monitoring of ships performance
- Ensure regulatory and internal health, safety, environmental and quality standards are met in accordance with the SOLAS, MARPOL conventions and the recommendations of the flag administrations
- Preparation and Project Management for scheduled and emergency ship repairs
- Ensure implementation of the planned maintenance system on assigned vessels
- Responsible for budget and cost control
- Carry out ship inspections in accordance with approved schedules and procedures
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experienced Superintendent, Chief Engineer
Technical and/or maritime experience
Knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, and industry standards
Good communication skills and fluency in English, oral and written
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Have a minimum of five years of work experience within ship management
Strong project management and leadership skills
Proven ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Solid and proven work co-ordination skills
Travel will be a part of the position
