UI/UX Designer

Who you are

Meridia is looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer with 4+ years of experience under the belt. You will be based in our office in the heart of Kaunas and work together with a young and dynamic team eager to have an impact where it matters most.

UI/UX Designer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools. If you also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our customer base.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
  • Develop and maintain standard UI components and style guides for company-wide use
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Support the QA team to make sure features are implemented as intended.
  • Conduct, observe and analyse usability testing sessions

What you bring to the table

  • 4+ Years of proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, Javascript frameworks in interface design and Android design (Java); Experience with Leaflet and React are a plus
  • Our products are geospatial in nature, so experience in designing maps UI/UX is required
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Ability to innovate and develop out-of-the-box solutions to complex user interaction problems
  • Portfolio of sample projects highlighting design for web based applications, mobile applications & consumer facing web sites and/or applications

Skills and mindset
  • Ability to work well with ambiguity or when requirements are still in flux
  • Proven experience showing clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals
  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills
  • An understanding of the latest design and technology trends and their role in a commercial environment
  • Business-minded approach to time, costs and deadlines
