Chartering & Bunkering Manager on the Global Vessel Ops. department

RESPONSIBILITIES

Chartering

• Investigate Trade requirements,
  
• Notify preferred charter brokers,
  
• Negotiate main terms and conditions,
  
• Arrange inspection and reporting of vessel by 3rd party
  
• Finalize negotiations and fix the vessel
  
• Issue and distribute signed Charter-Party with all concerned departments.
  
• Prepare delivery / redelivery of vessel and coordinate with “Global Vessel Ops.” team.
  
• Arrange/Coordinate on/off-hire surveys in good cooperation with the “Global Vessel
  

Ops.”team.

• Maintain On- and Off-Hire statements including fuel figures etc.
  
• Prepare On-and Off-Hire calculations.
  
• Follow up on accounting matters, i.e. identifying & allocation of Trade & Owners expenses.
  
• Share all files/data with involved colleagues and tread data confidential
  

Bunkering

• Negotiate main terms and conditions with bunker supplier
  
• Enter in contract with bunker supplier (In consultation with Trade, Legal…..)
  
• Coordinate/handle fuel request from either trade or the vessel in good cooperation with the
  

“Global Vessel Ops.” team.

• Make sure the bunker request is send to the preferred bunker supplier in good cooperation
  

with the “Global Vessel Ops.” team.

• Coordinate/Arrange the delivery port and date
  
• Receive delivery conformation from preferred supplier
  
• Arrange Bunker Quantity Survey (BQS)
  
• After bunkering receive Bunker Delivery Note (BDN)
  
• Make sure Fuel Drip Samples taken during bunkering will be sent to preferred laboratory for
  

owned vessels, this in good cooperation with the “ Global Vessel Ops.” team.

• Inform preferred supplier and vessel about the results and share lab results of chartered in
  

vessels with preferred bunker broker

Stevedore damages
The damages that occur during loading and discharge and are noted by the vessels crew in a Stevedore
Damage Report (SDR) and are reported to the Chartering and Bunkering Department.
As the manager of the Bunker & Chartering dept. you will:

• Determine if SDR is complete
  
• Check for signature of stevedore representative
  
• Forward SDR to terminal and hold them responsible for the costs (cc to Insurance and
  

Claims department)

• Request damage survey if/when required
  
• Determine if repairs are urgent or can be delayed to a more suitable date.
  
• Request quotes from repair companies
  
• Arrange and finalize repairs.
  
• Finalize payments
  
• Share all files/data with involved colleagues and tread data confidential.

COMPETENCIES

• Have a 24/7 mentality
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Branch.
  
• Excellent command of the English language;
  
• To have full knowledge of the Companies Safety Management system and Policies;
  
• Good communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team;
  
• Willingness to learn and adopt new systems and ideas;
  
• Good operational knowledge of the vessel types assigned;
  
• Good ability to perform consistently to high standards with own motivation and commitment;

• Experience in general used IT software like “ MS Office”, “ Vessel planning Software”
