Director of Finance

Our client is an international retail group and the long-term operator of a globally recognised consumer brand in Lithuania, combining high operational standards with a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

The company is now looking for a Director of Finance to lead the finance function in Lithuania and partner closely with the Managing Director and local leadership team, driving profitable growth and cost optimization through reliable, timely financial data and commercial insights that support operational, investment and marketing decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the finance function in Lithuania, acting as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and Group Finance, and contributing to profitable growth, cost optimization and overall business performance.
• Own the budgeting, forecasting and planning process and provide regular performance reports with clear commentary on variances and recommended actions.
• Ensure accurate and timely management reporting, statutory reporting and tax compliance, including month-end closing, account reconciliations and maintenance of accruals, provisions and capex records.
• Manage cash flow, payroll and payments, ensuring that revenues and costs are properly recorded and financial controls are in place and followed.
• Lead and develop the local finance/accounting team, ensuring effective processes, clear responsibilities and high service quality to the business.
• Act as a key business partner, providing financial and commercial insights for operational, investment and marketing decisions.
• Manage external partners and ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements and local regulations.
• Drive effective use and improvement of financial systems and tools to enhance the quality and speed of reporting.

Required experience and qualifications:

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (Bachelor’s or Master’s level) and local accountancy certification/licence.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of Lithuanian fiscal, taxation, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements, with a solid understanding of the local business environment.
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data while meeting deadlines.
• Fluency in written and spoken Lithuanian and English.
• Corporate experience in the retail and/or manufacturing industry and a background in working with international teams would be a strong advantage.
