We’re building a new digital bank from scratch — and data will be at the heart of it.

We’re creating a new data team to build a modern data platform from the ground up: scalable, cloud-native, reliable, and ready for the next generation of banking and AI.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in turning that vision into reality. You’ll combine deep technical expertise with leadership, helping define our data engineering strategy, and enabling the team to deliver high-quality solutions.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of a new digital bank, build a high-performing data engineering culture, and create a platform that can support everything from everyday banking to the next generation of AI-powered experiences.

Every day, you’ll be #closer and:

• Lead the data engineering direction — help define the architecture, technology choices, engineering principles, and roadmap for our new data platform.
• Build the foundations — design and implement ingestion, orchestration, transformation, and data processing capabilities from scratch.
• Lead the migration journey — bring existing data flows currently managed by external vendors into our own engineering ecosystem.
• Build a platform ready for AI — create the data foundations needed for future capabilities such as Conversational Analytics.
• Enable engineers to do their best work — mentor team members, share knowledge, provide technical guidance, and promote engineering excellence.
• Partner across the bank — collaborate with architects, product managers, software engineers, analysts, and external partners to turn business needs into robust data solutions.
• Set the quality bar — establish practices around testing, observability, documentation, security, performance, and maintainability.

To be #closer, you’ll bring:

• Strong experience in Data Engineering, with a track record of taking ownership of complex data platforms or products.
• Experience designing scalable and reliable data architectures.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
• Advanced programming skills in Python or another relevant programming language.
• Hands-on experience with data orchestration technologies such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Mage.
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including Git, CI/CD, testing, code quality, and observability.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to align technical decisions with business goals.
• A strong ownership mindset and the confidence to lead in a greenfield environment where not everything is defined yet.

It would be even #closer if you have:

• Built or led the development of a data platform from scratch.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and modern data modeling.
• Familiarity with AI/ML, LLMs, or Conversational Analytics.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience working with regulated environments, financial services, or banking.
