Network Engineer
Digital Operations at Icelandair is responsible for supporting company operations through security, optimization, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer, in our Tallinn office or Vilnius office, to ensure our network infrastructure is reliable, secure, and optimized for performance. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Icelandair’s network environment, primarily built on Fortinet technologies, while also working with Juniper equipment as needed.

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer, in our Tallinn office or Vilnius office, to ensure our network infrastructure is reliable, secure, and optimized for performance. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Icelandair’s network environment, primarily built on Fortinet technologies, while also working with Juniper equipment as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain Fortinet firewalls and network security solutions.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available network architectures.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively optimize configurations.
- Maintain network security through firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Apply firmware updates, patches, and upgrades to network devices.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.

Qualifications
- BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant certification.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Fortinet networking and security solutions.
- Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) or Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS) certification is highly valued.
- Experience with Juniper routing and switching, and Juniper Junos is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs).
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Excellent proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Professional mindset and proactive approach to improving network performance and security.
