Job description
Home Group is looking for a Purchasing Specialist for raw materials of Upholstery Furniture to execute its purchasing process for group factories, decrease costs, and improve material suppliers' performance. Purchasing Specialist will be based at operations in Klaipeda (400+ employees) and will report directly to Purchasing Manager. In this role, he/she will cooperate with the commercial and logistic team and also purchasing team in other factories, as well as European and Chinese suppliers of raw materials.
We expect from You
- Calculate order quantity based on defined need quantity per production plan and raw materials stock levels.
- Define optimal supplying logistics to secure timely delivery to production units at a best landed price.
- Place orders for raw materials and follow up on its shipment, troubleshooting to secure timely delivery, responsible for document flow related to RM supply.
- Define and follow up on optimal stock levels, support solutions to manage slow-moving articles, contribute to analysis and improvement of inventory deviations.
- Follow up on supplier's performance vs delivery contract conditions, analyze deviations, coordinate improvement activities from the Group perspective. Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions
- Support the claiming process to suppliers for quality defects, cooperate with supplier quality development function to ensure that the material we receive is of the right quality.
- Contribute to searching for new potential raw material suppliers and coordinating the new suppliers' implementation.
- Stay up-to-date on a situation in the upholstery raw materials market (new trends, materials, sourcing countries, purchasing logistics solutions), use opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to the RM category.
Requirements
- Experience in procurement over 2 years, preferably within an international organization.
- Analytical mindset.
- PC literacy: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, IFS, SAP, or relevant software.
- Upper-Intermediate English language is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, and influence without direct authority.
- Strong communication skills.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
