Our client – a software development and testing company specialized in medical solutions – is currently looking to strengthen its team with a Software Engineer (SCB).
The Software Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the SCB Software applications. This role requires strong coding skills, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions aligned with the SCB platform architecture and technical requirements.

Main responsibilities:
- Development (analyze, design, implement, test and debug) of SCB application specific software in accordance with requirements for SCB integrated medical devices.
- Develop software in compliance with the Safe 6.0 Scrum method and formal FME process for non-medical devices.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain quality standards and share best practices.
- Support the rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to software.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Researches, recommends, and implements new and/or existing products, processes, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure technical proposal, engineering estimate and technical review material are provided per pursuit targets and agreed upon timing in support of the SCB delivery milestone planning.
- Support customer meetings as the technical subject matter experts for specific features and implementation tasks.
- Performs other duties as necessary for completion of SCB target goals.
- Integration of the SCB software components into a complete system and make the software available for the Medical Device project teams.
- Maintain and expand the existing infrastructure for software development, software builds and release management
- Maintain the nightly build process and roll out on further projects
- Support the development of tools within the continuous integration process and automatic test case development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in computer/software engineering or computer science (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years in embedded software development for electronic systems; hands-on embedded Linux development.
- Core technical skills (essential): embedded application development in Linux; modern C++ and C programming, troubleshooting, and debugging; strong OOP, software architecture, and UML design.
- Additional technical pluses: security concepts (e.g., TLS, TPM); network programming; Python and JavaScript.
- Process/standards: familiarity with IEC 62304; experience with Agile/Scrum; disciplined SDLC alongside agile methods; configuration management/DevOps tools (e.g., Polarion), project monitoring/control.
- Strong English (spoken/written); German – desirable.
- Structured engineering approach, problem-solving mindset.
- Strong troubleshooting/debugging.
- Able to work in varied environments and present technical topics internally/externally.
